New Order: Be a rebel – not a devil

New Order veröffentlichen einen Song für die Freiheit! Mute hat das neue Video zur neuen New Order „Be A Rebel“ veröffentlicht. „Be a Rebel“, das jüngste Stück von New Order, an allerlei Orten zuletzt als spektakuläre Rückkehr der Band gefeiert, bekommt ein entsprechend verblüffendes Video zur Seite gestellt. Der spanische Regisseur NYSU zeigt in seiner typisch üppigen und Bildsprache ein Paar in Aufruhr.

„Be a Rebel“ ist digital und auf 12″ mit neuen Remixen erhältlich. Zu den auf der Single enthaltenen Remixen gehören Bernard Sumners „Renegade Mix“ (die Originalversion des adidas Spezial Ad-Soundtracks), Sumners „Renegade Instrumental Mix“,und Stephen Morris „T34 Mix“ . Weitere Dancefloor-Remixes werden folgen.
 
„Be a Rebel“ war ursprünglich als Veröffentlichung zur diesjährigen Herbsttournee von New Order angedacht, doch obwohl die Live-Shows erst einmal auf Eis gelegt und die Termine auf 2021 verschoben wurden, hielt es die Band für wichtig, ihre Fans an neuer Musik teilhaben zu lassen: “In tough times we wanted to reach out with a new song. We can’t play live for a while, but music is still something we can all share together. We hope you enjoy it… until we meet again“, erläutert Bernard Sumner. Und so erscheint nun mit „Be a Rebel“ ein so upliftendes wie verträumtes neues Stück aus der New Order’schen Synthie-Pop-Schule.
